Village of Pulaski - Department of Public Works

Serves to ensure Village residents receive quality services and have access to safe, well-maintained recreational areas.  Additionally the department strives not only to maintain the Village infrastructure, but to implement long-term improvements aimed at enhancing the quality of life for the residents of the community.

GRASS ON STREETS 

Grass clippings MUST NOT be blown into the streets, to prevent hazards during rain (creating slippery spots on roads or clogging storm drains, causing water back-ups).  

 

BRANCHES, BRUSH, AND GARDEN WASTE

The Public Works Dept. will pick up garden/yard waste, brush, and branches (not to exceed 8 feet in length) on Friday mornings.  Put garden/yard waste in containers or boxes by 7:00 a.m. on Friday.

 

WEEDS AND GRASS CONTROL

No property owner within the Village shall allow grass or weeds to grow in excess of 12 inches.  Property owners failing to comply will have their grass/weeds cut by the Village at a charge of $100/lot and $50/hour, with a minimum charge of $150. 

 

REMODELLING DEBRIS, SOD, CONCRETE, STONE & ASPHALT

Village residents are required to make their own arrangements to dispose of remodeling debris, sod, concrete, asphalt, bricks, stones, etc.  The Village crew will not pick up these items, nor can they be brought to the Village compost site. 

 

GARBAGE & RECYCLING PICKUP

The Village contracts with Harter’s Fox Valley Disposal Services to provide garbage and single stream recycling pickup for Village residents (residential waste only).  The collection schedule is here.

  • Garbage collection is every Monday starting at 6:00 am
  • Recycling collection is every other Monday starting at 6:00 am. Recycling is cardboard, glass, tin and steel cans, aluminum, plastic can be put in the blue recycling container. Please rinse containers to remove all product from the container. Flatten boxes to save space and cut large pieces of cardboard down to 3' x 3'.
  • Do not place containers at the curb more than 24 hrs in advance and remove them within 24 hrs after pickup.
  • Containers should only be filled to a capacity that allows the container cover to be closed.
  • Commercial or industrial service, such as 2, 4, 6, or 8-yard containers, you need to make your own arrangements.

LARGE ITEM PICKUP or APPLIANCES WITH REFRIGERANTS

Contact Harter’s Disposal (1-888-804-8556) to make arrangements for pickup and payment.  An independent contractor can be contacted.

 

METAL DISPOSAL

Friday morning pickup (stoves, washers, dryers, metal grills, etc.).  Have items out by 7:00 a.m. 

 

ELECTRONICS RECYCLING (E-RECYCLING)

The Village of Pulaski will pick up televisions, computer systems, for $25.00. Printers, keyboards, mouse, DVD/VCR players, phones & microwaves for $5.00.  Purchase stickers at the Village Hall.
